Peruvian journalist dies after shooting in the city of AguaytÃa

Mitzar Bato Castillejos Tenazoa, a Peruvian journalist and news presenter for Radio Latín Plus 107.7 FM died on 26 December, fourteen days after being shot by unkown assailants as he was leaving his home to go host his radio program.
Mitzar Bato Castillejos Tenazoa was known locally for reporting on public affairs.
On December 12, Castillejos was shot at close range by armed attackers as he was leaving his home to go host his radio program. The assailants were described as hitmen traveling on a motorcycle. Despite medical efforts, he died on 26 December as a result of the gunshot wounds.
According to information gathered by the National Association of Journalists of Peru (ANP), Castillejos had been publicly denouncing alleged irregularities and corruption in the municipal government of Padre Abad.
