Palestinian satellite broadcast engineer killed by Israeli airstrike on his home

On May 31, 2025, satellite broadcast engineer Yousef Al-Nakhala, 26, was killed when Israeli warplanes struck his central Gaza City home.
His brother, Ahmed Al-Nakhala, told CPJ that the Israeli military ordered residents of their neighborhood to evacuate.
“Yousef did not expect that our building would be targeted,” he said. “But at 2 p.m., Israeli warplanes bombed our six-story home while Yousef was on the third floor. He was killed immediately.”
