The Israeli air strikes hit the Yemeni capital Sanaa and the northern province of al-Jawf on 10 September. The offices of the 26 September Newspaper were struck, leaving at least 9 journalists and several passers-by dead or wounded. 

The Yemeni Journalists Syndicate acknowledged that 26 SeptemberNewspaper was Houthi-controlled but stressed that several civilian journalists with no military affiliation were among those killed in the strike.

According to the union, first casualties include the killing of Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh, Abbas Al-Dailami, Youssef Shams Al-Din Al-Bahri, Mohammed Al-Omeisi, Abdullah Al-Harazi, Murad Halboub Al-Faqih, Ali Naji Al-Shara'i, Ali Mohammed Al-Aqel, Jamal Al-Adhi. The union also points at a number of journalists wounded, including Mansour Al-Ansi.
