Hassan Samour, a 44-year-old Palestinian host and producer for Al Aqsa Voice Radio, was killed in an overnight Israeli airstrike on his home near Khan Younis, southern Gaza, on May 15, 2025, along with 11 family members.
Multiple airstrikes hit Khan Younis that night, killing more than 50 people in a second consecutive night of heavy bombing, the Associated Press reported.
“The strike killed Hassan, his wife, their five children, his mother, his brother, his brother’s wife, and their children,” Ahmed Zughbur, director of Al-Aqsa Voice Radio, told CPJ, adding that their home was in Bani Suheila, some 2 kilometers east of Khan Yunis.
“Earlier in the war, Hassan’s other brother, his wife, and children, as well as Hassan’s father and sixth child, were also killed — effectively erasing Hassan’s entire family,” he said.
