Mustafa al-Sarut, a 31-year-old Syrian journalist who worked as a reporter and photographer for Focus Aleppo Magazine and as a camera operator for TRT World, was shot and killed on November 30, 2024, by a military soldier thought to be part of dismantled Syrian military forces inside Al-Ashrafiya neighborhood of Aleppo, while covering the recent battles between government and rebel forces in the city.
