Cambodian environmental journalist killed on assignment

Cambodian journalist Chhoeung Chheung has died from injuries sustained after he was shot on December 4 while travelling to cover an illegal forest clearing operation in northern Cambodia. The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) joins its affiliate, the Cambodian Journalists Association Alliance (CamboJA) in strongly condemning the murder and urges Cambodian authorities to swiftly investigate the brutal targeted killing.
Chheung died from his injuries on December 7 after being shot en route to in Boeung Per Wildlife Sanctuary in the country’s north.
