Palestinian photojournalist killed in Israeli airstrike in Nuseirat refugee camp

Tareq AlSalhi, a 29-year-old Palestinian photojournalist who worked for the social media based Gaza Live network, which publishes on WhatsApp, Telegram and X, was killed on October 15, 2024, along with several members of his family in an Israeli airstrike on his uncle’s house in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, according to SKeyes and his brother Belal AlSalhi, who spoke to CPJ.
Belal AlSalhi, told CPJ that “my brother Tareq and a large number of family members were in my uncle’s house in the Nuseirat camp in central Gaza, when the Israeli air force bombed my uncle Munir’s house at dawn...which completely emptied and destroyed the apartment in which they were sleeping. His two children, Abdullah and Muhammad, and my cousin and my aunt were killed with him.”
