2 Wolesi Jirga TV employees killed in Kabul blasts

Halim Tanwir, senior culture advisor and acting head of the
Wolesi Jirga TV and radio, said Norullah, a reporter, and Faridah Mustakhdim, another employee of the TV, had been killed in the attack.
He said Norullah was 23-year-old and belonged to central Panjshir province. He joined the Wolesi Jirga TV three months ago.
A statement from the
Afghanistan Journalists Association said the association strongly condemned the twin bombings that killed 38 people and wounded 82.
The
Taliban claimed responsibility for the bombings, with the group’s spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid saying the first attack targeted an
NDS minibus.
The subsequent car bombing hit security personnel, who had gathered at the scene. He claimed 72 people were killed or wounded in the blasts. All those injured were security personnel.
The explosives-laden Corolla car went off when officers were leaving the parliament building in the afternoon rush hour.
The second suicide attack came 20 minutes later, targeting a minibus that carried National Assembly staff. Khanyar said a policeman was among the 21 people killed. Another 13 policemen were wounded in the twin explosions.
