Director-General condemns murder of reporter Yaqoub Sharafat in Afghanistan
Details
“I condemn the murder of Yaqoub Sharafat,” the Director-General said, “and I call on the authorities to investigate this crime. Violence against media workers undermines freedom of expression and press freedom, challenging democracy and rule of law.”
Sharafat, a reporter for public broadcaster
Radio Television Afghanistan, was shot by unknown assailants on 16 October.
