Journalist shot dead in U.P.
Details
Karun Misra, 32, was travelling in a car to his home district Ambedkarnagar when he was shot at by motorcycle-borne assailants. Mr. Misra, a journalist with Hindi daily Jan Sandesh , was rushed to the hospital but he succumbed to bullet wounds, a police spokesperson said.
Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has ordered Director-General of Police Javeed Ahmed to form special teams to nab the culprits. Mr. Yadav, expressing “deep concern” over the incident, announced an ex gratia of Rs. 10 lakh for the family of the journalist, the CMO said.
