Incident
ISIS ‘executes’ female journalist in Mosul
Cause of death
Other non-natural
Details
The extremist group beheaded Suha Ahmed Radi after detaining her for several days, the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate (IJS) reported without revealing details about the execution.
The body of the Iraqi woman, who was working as a reporter for a Mosul-based newspaper, was reportedly handed over to her relatives.
It is not the first time the militant group executed journalists in Iraq. Last September, ISIS released a video in August 2014 showing the beheading of James Foley, a 40-year old freelance journalist who was kidnapped in Syria.
Foley’s execution was the first of a succession of high profile beheadings carried out by ISIS.
