Gunmen kill journalist in Kaduna, Nigeria
Details
Yunus, who until his death worked as a senior staff of the media outfit, was killed by unknown gunmen in Kaduna, North- West Nigeria.
An eyewitness told Channels Television’s correspondent, that the gunmen stormed the residence of the journalist, located at Ungwan Dosa around 7:45 p.m. last night and killed him in cold blood.
Some staff of the newspaper, however suspected a political undertone to the killing as no single item was taken from the house by the gunmen.
The Spokesperson of Kaduna Police Command, Aminu Lawal, confirmed the incident, saying that investigation has already commenced into the killing.
The late Yunus, until his death was the General Manager of the weekly New Democrat Newspaper, owned by a former Senator, Mukhtar Aruwa.
