Under Investigation: 1 A New York Times reporter of Afghan origin was killed by unidentified assailants in Helmand province, Afghanistan. A Helmand governor spokesperson, Umar Zvak, told the Anadolu Agency that Nur Ahmed Nuri’s body was found in Lashakargah city center on Thursday evening (23 January).  The spokesperson said that the police found body of the New York Times reporter, who had worked for the newspaper for two years, with deep wounds. He might have died as a result of torture, the spokesperson said. The spokesperson added that an investigation has been started into the incident.
