Road accident
Prashant Bhole (25) and R V Syed (29), both journalists, were returning on their motorbike after covering a meeting when they tried to avoid hitting a youngster on a cycle.
They lost their lives when a truck rammed into their motorbike.
The truck driver, Santosh Moulik, was arrested immediately.
Syed died almost immediately in hospital, having borne the impact of the collision from behind. Bhole suffered internal injuries and succumbed later. Syed was a journalist with the Jan Aadesh and is survived by a wife and three daughters. Bhole, a reporter with Marathi daily Lokmat. He leaves behind an ageing mother and two brothers.
