Ilocos Norte—Police admitted on Monday that they have yet to establish the motive for the ambush-murder of the hard-hitting broadcast journalist, Roger Mariano, on the national highway in Barangay Barabar 22, San Nicolas.
Mariano was riding his motorcycle on his way home in Barangay Peralta in Dingras when he was ambushed. Police recovered at least 16 empty shells of M-16 Armalite and carbine rifles at the scene of the crime. Mariano was hit 4 times in the head and 11 times in the back, based on the autopsy report.
