Romeo Sanchez, a radio broadcaster at DZNL and a regional coordinator of the leftist Bayan Muna (Nation First) group, was killed Wednesday in Baguio City, 350 kilometres north of Manila.
Sanchez was with two companions inside a flea market in Baguio when the gunman approached and shot him once with a 9-millimetre pistol. He died on the spot, while the gunman walked away casually after the killing. Sanchez's colleagues noted that the attack could have been politically motivated.
