Correspondent Atwar Bahjat and cameraman Khaled Mahmoud Al Falahi of the Al-Arabiya Television disappeared after giving a last live on 22 February.
Iraqi police confirmed that they were kidnapped and then assassinated in Samarra. The police sources said that a person who was with them managed to escape from the gunmen. The journalists were covering the attack on the shrine of the two Shi'i imams, Ali al-Hadi and Al-Hasan al-Askari, north of Baghdad.
