Adnan al-Safi, 40, a journalist working for Al-Anwar, a Kuwaiti-owned satellite channel died after being shot in the head by a sniper on his way home from work.
Safi died from nerve damage more than 24 hours after the incident, which took place in the Otaifiyah area of northern Baghdad. Safi, who also worked as an adviser to the Iraqi journalists' union and as a reporter for Sawt al-Iraq (Voice of Iraq), is survived by his wife and three children.
