Road accident
Three persons, including a journalist and photographer of a leading Hindi daily, were killed and four others injured as a jeep in which they were travelling collided with a stationary truck on the Azamgarh-Gorakhpur national highway here.
The jeep was carrying seven scribes, who were returning from Varanasi, when the accident occurred here late last night near Latghat bazar, police said. Ved Prakash Chouhan, a senior journalist, and Komal Yadav, a photographer, both working in Amar Ujala, a hindi daily, were killed in the mishap.
In the mishap the driver of the jeep, Samarjeet, was also killed, they said, adding the injured have been rushed to a Gorakhpur hospital where their condition was stated to be serious.
