Road accident
Three people including a Daily Monitor photo journalist were on Saturday night killed in a car accident at Kyakumpi near Nyendo trading centre in Masaka.
Nine other people were seriously injured. Masaka district deputy OC CID Steven Etyang identified Samuel Wossita among the dead. Wossita was a leading Monitor photo-journalist and often covered golf. Wossita was returning from covering the Mbarara Golf Open. Others killed in the grisly night accident were George Wambi, a lecturer at Africa Education Centre in Kampala and Tom Muligo, a mechanic in Wandegeya, also in Kampala. Etyang said that omni-bus number UAJ 928F, heading to Kampala from Mbarara rammed into a stationary Canter number UAJ 529B which was loaded with matooke.
