Godofredo Linao
Shooting
Godofredo Linao, a radio journalist working for Radyo Natin, was shot dead by two unidentified men near the station's offices, where he worked as a commentator, in Surigao del Sol province on southern Mindanao Island.
Radyo Natin's manager and owner, Mario Alviso said Linao had been summoned to Barabo township by text message at around 1 a.m., according to the National Union of Journalists of the Philippines. Linao was about to board his motorcycle when the men fired at him four times, killing him on the spot. The men fled the scene.Local reports suggest Linao may have been targeted for his political broadcasts.
