Veteran journalist Israel Zelaya was killed hours after being kidnapped by gunmen in the city of San Pedro Sula.
His body was found in a sugar cane plantation near the city of Villanueva.
Three months earlier,the 62-year-old radio commentator for Radio International in San Pedro Sula had complained to authorities that a group of strangers had set his house on fire. Police have no suspects or a motive in the killing.
