Journalist Joseph Hernández Ochoa of the privately-owned Canal 51 TV station was shot dead in Tegucigalpa.
Ochoa, who hosted an entertainment program on the station, was driving fellow colleague Karol Cabrera home when their car came under fire. Supposedly the target of the attack,Cabrera survived. A total of 36 bullet impacts were found in her car. A very outspoken journalist at Canal 8 TV and Radio Cadena Voces (RCV), Cabrera had already reported receiving threats. In December 2009,she was victim of a similar ambush, which took the life of her 16 years old daughter.
