TV Asahi Corp. said its Cairo bureau chief, his Egyptian assistant and the Libyan driver of the car they were traveling in have died in a car accident in Libya.

Yoshihisa Nomura, 37, was en route to Sirte to cover the situation in Libya after the death of Colonel Qaddafi, when the car carrying four people, including his assistant Ms. Shima'a Sami, 31, was involved in the accident. The fourth passenger, a TV Asahi cameraman was injured, according to TV Asahi. Japanese media has been providing extensive coverage of the so-called "Arab Spring" in Libya and other Arab countries.
