Associate editor of Outlook magazine Ravindra Shah was killed in a road accident near Sehore on Monday evening. Shah was on his way to Bhopal from Indore when the vehicle in which he was travelling overturned near Jatakheda village, about 10 km from Sehore, about 4 pm.

Shah was accompanying Madhya Pradesh Mineral Development Corporation vice-chairman Govind Malu in the latter’s official car. Malu, his daughter Surabhi and the car driver Rishi were injured in the accident. The injured are undergoing treatment at Chirayu nursing home in Bhopal. The incident occurred around 4.30 pm, when Shah along with Malu and other persons were on way to Bhopal from Indore in an official vehicle of Malu bearing registration number (MP04-CF-7300).

As the vehicle, they were travelling in, was passing through Jatakheda, seven km north of Sehore on Indore-Bhopal highway, it turned turtle, leading to death of Shah on the spot, while Govind Malu, his daughter Surabhi and his driver Rishi sustained severe injuries. All the injured persons have been admitted to Chirau Hospital in Bhopal where their condition was stated to be out of danger. The driver told the police that the vehicle turned turtle due to failure of vehicle’s steering.

Shah, a native of Indore working as an associate editor in Hindi fortnightly Outlook, had started his career from Nai Dunia in Indore where he worked in various key positions, before joining the then Hindi daily Dainik Free Press in Indore. Shah later joined Sahara news channel in Jaipur and from there he switched to S1 News channel where he worked as its news director before joining Outlook.
