Iraqi journalist killed in central Baghdad

An Iraqi journalist was killed by a silencer-equipped gun on Sunday (November 18th) in central Baghdad, the local police said.
"Two gunmen attacked the car of Samir al-Sheikh, editor-in-chief of al-Jamaheer al-Baghdadiya newspaper, as he returned home from the newspaper headquarters at 5:00 pm Sunday," Lt. Col.
Zuhair Hasan of Baghdad police told Al-Shorfa. Hasan said al-Sheikh, 61, died immediately after the attack, while the attackers fled. The police are conducting an investigation into the attack to identify the motives behind it, he added.
