International News Safety Institute

Cosain Consulting

Cosain Consulting is an international consultancy with over 17 years of experience supporting journalists in complex, high-risk, and legally sensitive environments. The firm operates via a standardised professional framework that ensures advisors support newsgathering without ever interfering in editorial independence.

Training Leadership and Global Cohort: Cosain Consulting pioneered the first Media Security Training in May 2021. Since then, the firm has trained in excess of 700 security professionals, establishing the largest and only trained, vetted, and qualified cohort of security professionals worldwide. In addition to individual certifications, Cosain trains the in-house security staff of many major news networks and media outlets, maintaining the largest portfolio of news clients worldwide.

Global Reach and Operational Velocity: With strategic hubs in the USA, London, Dubai, Kyiv, Bangkok, and Belfast, and a network of over 500 trained advisors, Cosain provides unrivaled global reach. To date, Cosain has successfully completed over 500 field deployments globally. Uniquely, a centralized command structure allows for the tasking and deployment of advisors within a 30-minute window globally, providing immediate support for breaking news and rapidly deteriorating security situations.

Instructor Cadre and Curriculum: The instructor cadre possesses over 30 years of experience and regularly deploys to the field. This allows the curriculum to continuously evolve based on real-time lessons and best practices from active conflict zones, natural disasters, and civil unrest.
