Second annual Jim Foley Freedom Run

Jim Foley was a journalist who risked his life trying to shine a light in dark places. He paid the ultimate price when he was murdered by the Islamic State in Syria in 2014. 18 October would have been his birthday. On 15 October the James W. Foley Legacy Foundation, a charity set up by Jim's family to honour his memory, organised a 5km run in Jim's hometown of Rochester, New Hampshire, with virtual runs around the world.  INSI employees ran in the event in Jim's memory and to honour all our brave media colleagues who risk their lives every day to bring us the news. The James W. Foley Legacy Foundation was set up to advocate for the safe return of American hostages, protect press freedom and educate journalism students on the dangers of conflict journalism.
