Al Arabiya joins INSI

Based in the United Arab Emirates, Al Arabiya is one of the leading 24-hour news stations in the Arab world and runs a global network of correspondents who will all now benefit from INSI membership. INSI is a member-based safety organisation offering a vital forum for networking and information sharing via our membership portal, alerts and advisories, workshops, regional meetings and webinar discussions. Al Arabiya joins a growing network of INSI members including Reuters, the BBC, ABC, CNN, Al Jazeera and many more of the world’s top news outlets. "We're delighted to welcome Al Arabiya as members of the International News Safety Institute and applaud their commitment to the safety of their journalists and media staff," said INSI director Hannah Storm. "In a world where journalists face increasing risks, INSI is dedicated to supporting all of its members across the globe, ensuring that they have the most relevant and up-to-date information to help them stay safe wherever and whenever they work." This powerful INSI network is needed now more than ever. Our research has shown that on average two journalists or media workers are killed every week, year in year out, doing their job. "We at Al Arabiya News Channel are very proud to be a member of INSI; our ongoing and primary concern as a news channel is to keep our journalists safe," said Al Arabiya Head of Operations Ruba Ibrahim. "We are hoping that this forum will contribute to keeping our reporters safe through networking with other organisations and colleagues from all over the industry and sharing information and expertise.”
